  • Collaborative paper published in Cancers

Collaborative efforts with the Medical University of Vienna resulted in a new manuscript concerning STAT5 activation in CD34+/CD38 MPN stem cells, published in the journal Cancers. The article is a part of the special issue Targeting STAT3 and STAT5 in Cancer.

STAT5 is Expressed in CD34+/CD38 Stem Cells and Serves as a Potential Molecular Target in Ph-Negative Myeloproliferative Neoplasms.

  • Collaborative paper published in The Journal of Clinical Investigation

Due to our collaboration with the brilliant researchers at the Technical University of Denmark, we gained novel insights into the role of STAT5 in the programming of innate gamma delta T cells in the neonatal microenvironment. Together, we have now published this study in The Journal of Clinical Investigation. These findings could benefit and contribute to future therapies for human immunological diseases.

The neonatal microenvironment programs innate γδ T cells through the transcription factor STAT5.

  • Heidi Neubauer is selected for the “VetWoman” Program

We are proud to announce that Dr. Heidi Neubauer was chosen to be 1 out of 10 participants in the “VetWoman” Female Career Development Program 2020. In this initiative, founded this year by the Vetmed University, talented early-career female researchers are trained and coached in leadership and management skills for a duration of 18-months.

  • Skiing-Trip / Farewell Katrin

To say farewell to one of our amazing Master students (Katrin Sommer), some of us spent a wonderful day skiing at Hochkar. Just like her Master thesis defense, Katrin rocked her first skiing lesson here in Austria. We will miss you as a part of the lab, Katrin!

  • Richard Moriggl and Heidi Neubauer receive Awards at the Vetmed Science Day 2019

Gain more insight into the Vetmeduni Science day in this video, created by the Vetmeduni Vienna.

At this year’s Vetmeduni Science Day, there were interesting talks, poster sessions from students, networking opportunities as well as awards given in recognition of outstanding scientific contributions from the previous year. Members of the Moriggl lab, Richard Moriggl and Heidi Neubauer, were very successful and received three awards.
