  • Science Day Awards for the Moriggl Lab

    Vetmeduni Science Day 2022

    The following awards were awarded to members of the Moriggl lab on this year’s science day:

    • 2 poster awards were awarded to Marie Ploderer for her beautiful and informative poster on “Increased STAT5B levels lead to enhanced megakaryocytic differentiation correlating with thrombosis in myeloproliferative neoplasms”
    • 1 young researcher award was given to Heidi Neubauer for obtaining the highest amount of third party funding in the non-clinical area
    • 1 inventor award was awarded to Anna Orlova and Richard Moriggl for their patentable invention of novel STAT5 oligomerization inhibitors

  • Heidi Neubauer receives the Vetmeduni young scientist of the year award for most citations in the non-clinical category

    At the Vetmeduni Science Day 2021, we enjoyed inspiring posters, interesting conversations and very good food.

    On top of that, Heidi Neubauer was awarded the young scientist of the year award for most citations in the non-clinical category.

  • Internal Vetmed Science Awards for Anna Orlova

    Anna Orlova from our Moriggl Lab was not only awarded with one but two annual Vetmeduni science awards 2020 in the category “below 35”.

    Anna was successful in both existing categories:

    • Most cited scientist in the non-clinical area
    • Most successful scientist in receiving third-party grants in the non-clinical area

  • Cytokines 2020 Virtual Meeting / Milstein award for Tobias Suske

    Despite the recurring lockdown measures that make working in research particularly challenging nowadays, PhD students from the Moriggl lab nevertheless participated in the Cytokine meeting 2020, that took place online from the 1st until the 4th of November.

    Christina Wagner presented our model systems for JAK/STAT gain and loss of function mutations in the form of a lightning talk, which is a pre-recorded talk of 3 minutes/3 slides.

    Tobias Suske recorded and uploaded an insightful talk about his research on STAT5BN642H driver mutations.

    Tobias Suske receives Milstein Abstract Award for Cytokines 2020 Virtual Meeting

    The Award Committee of the International Cytokine and Interferon Society (ICIS) selected Tobias for a Milstein Abstract Award in the amount of $500 in recognition of his presentation. The talk entitled “The Activating STAT5BN642H Driver Mutation Disrupts T Cell Development Progressing to T Cell Neoplasia” was given in the session “Structure-Function and Systems Biology of Cytokine Actions”.

  • Richard Moriggl and Heidi Neubauer receive Awards at the Vetmed Science Day 2019

    At this year’s Vetmeduni Science Day, there were interesting talks, poster sessions from students, networking opportunities as well as awards given in recognition of outstanding scientific contributions from the previous year. Members of the Moriggl lab, Richard Moriggl and Heidi Neubauer, were very successful and received three awards.

    Lab head Richard Moriggl was awarded with the ‘Vetmeduni Vienna ‘Scientist of the Year’ Award, non-clinical category: Highest number of citations’. 

    Heidi Neubauer was awarded with the ‘Vetmeduni Vienna ‘Young Scientist of the Year’ Award, non-clinical category: Highest number of citations’ and the ‘Vetmeduni Vienna ‘Young Scientist of the Year’ Award, non-clinical category: Most third-party funding’.
