  • 4th International Conference on Cytokines in Cancer

Various members of the JAK-STAT SFB consortium, PI Richard Moriggl among them, participated in the 4th International Conference on Cytokines in Cancer. It was a great pleasure to meet and discuss in person at one of the first conferences after the pandemic on the beautiful island of Chania.

Richard contributed by giving a talk with the title “Towards an understanding of the STAT5BN642H driver mutation in blood cancers and how to eliminate it

  • Heidi Neubauer and Richard Moriggl join the ERAPerMed JAKSTAT-TARGET and the ERANET-PLL consortia meeting in Lyon

Productive presentations at the consortia-meeting in Lyon.

The joint consortia meeting in Lyon/France between the ERAPerMed JAKSTAT-TARGET and the ERANET-PLL consortium (November 18 – 20, 2021) was the first in person meeting for all members since 2019. Most PIs could attend and the meeting resulted in very productive discussions and strengthened our collaborative efforts.

Thanks to all attending colleagues for this inspiring time in this beautiful city.

Christina Wagner presented our model systems for JAK/STAT gain and loss of function mutations in the form of a lightning talk, which is a pre-recorded talk of 3 minutes/3 slides.

Tobias Suske recorded and uploaded an insightful talk about his research on STAT5BN642H driver mutations.

Christina and Tobi engaged in the online Cytokine meeting.

Tobias Suske receives Milstein Abstract Award for Cytokines 2020 Virtual Meeting

The Award Committee of the International Cytokine and Interferon Society (ICIS) selected Tobias for a Milstein Abstract Award in the amount of $500 in recognition of his presentation. The talk entitled “The Activating STAT5BN642H Driver Mutation Disrupts T Cell Development Progressing to T Cell Neoplasia” was given in the session “Structure-Function and Systems Biology of Cytokine Actions”.

Congratulations Christina and Tobi, and thank you ICIS for this great event! 🙂

  • Richard Moriggl and Heidi Neubauer receive Awards at the Vetmed Science Day 2019

Gain more insight into the Vetmeduni Science day in this video, created by the Vetmeduni Vienna.

At this year’s Vetmeduni Science Day, there were interesting talks, poster sessions from students, networking opportunities as well as awards given in recognition of outstanding scientific contributions from the previous year. Members of the Moriggl lab, Richard Moriggl and Heidi Neubauer, were very successful and received three awards.
